Frequently Asked Questions: FAQ

Q: What do you mean by a "Customized Ceremony"?

A: Instead a standard textbook ceremony, you may pick from several different types of ceremonies, vows, or readings.  If you have something special or different you want to include we will work with you to include in.

Q. How long is my marriage license good for?

A: In the state of Washington you must wait 3 days after getting your license to marry and it is valid for 60 days. You are responsible for applying for and getting your license.

Q. Will I need a witness?

A: The State of Washington requires that each wedding be attended by at least two witnesses. We can provide witnesses for $10 per witness.

Q: Do I need to have a rehearsal?

A: Since we are a resort destination at least a couple hours from where most people live, it is usually not necessary.  We will have everything worked out ahead of time and the ceremony will be easy to follow. We also provide assistants to guide you through.

Q. Do I get my deposit back if I cancel?

A. The $100 deposit is non-refundable. Please be sure before you book your wedding. However, we do allow you to use this deposit for up to 12 months should you need to change the date of your wedding.

Q. Do we need a permit to get married on the beach?

A. Yes, the beach is a Washington State Park and they require a $10 Special Activity Permit for beach weddings. Simply call 360-289-3553 and ask for Park Ranger Jim Schmidt. It is best to plan ahead and call at least two weeks in advance. We are sorry that we cannot do this for you; you must get the permit yourself.

What if it rains?Q. What if it rains?

A.  We will do everything we can to make sure your wedding goes exactly as you want. However it does occasionally rain on the Washington coast and you will need to have a "back-up" location. Usually the best place is to move the ceremony to the location of your reception. We can set up all of our ceremony packages inside except for the tiki torches.  You must make this decision based on the weather forecast the day before your wedding. It is best to work out the details with the location hosting the reception so they will be prepared. If you don’t have a backup plan and the forecast if for a light rain please encourage your guest to bring raingear. We have up to 50 clear domed umbrellas available for your use.

We may not be able to play our sound equipment in the rain, so there is a possibility you may not have music for your wedding.

Q. What if we are running late for our scheduled wedding time?

A: It is extremely important that you allow enough time for you and all your guests to get to the site.  We will be ready for you 30 minutes before the ceremony and we ask the same courtesy from you.  We must start on time, as we usually have several weddings scheduled in a day.  When you are late, you not only inconvenience all your guests, but also everyone working on your wedding and everyone else who may be getting married after you that day.  We allow a 15 minute maximum grace period.
