The license is not valid until three (3) days after the date issued. Beginning on the third day after it is issued. The license is then good for the next 60 days.

Both bride and groom may apply for their marriage license at the Grays Harbor County Auditor's office during normal business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. closed 12:00-1:00).
The office is located in the Administration building next to the Courthouse at 100 W Broadway, Suite 2 in Montesano, Washington. (360) 249-4232 x 331.
If one of the parties can't appear in person, the other party may take the uncompleted forms to the absent party to be filled out, and signed, in front of a notary public. When the application is returned, the party taking the forms completes their portion in our office. A license can then be issued.
No birth certificates, blood tests, or other documentation is necessary to apply for a marriage license.
Waiting Period

Age Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Exceptions:
Applicants 17 years of age may obtain a license with consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Applicants 16 years of age or younger require parent or guardian consent AND an order from the Juvenile Court.
Marriage License Fee
The fee for a marriage license is $64 cash or money order ONLY.
Checks and credit cards are not accepted for this purpose.
